Clos Domaines & Châteaux
La noblesse des vins suisses

Château Saint-Vincent: 1000 years of know-how! The vineyard of Château Saint-Vincent, situated in the town of Gilly in La Côte (Vaud region), has a long history of winegrowing. Indeed, a land deed, dating back to the beginning of the 11th century, already noted the existence of vines near a church dedicated to Sanctus Vincentis, where the current Château is today. Its 9.4-hectare vineyard surrounds the Château and its magnificent park.

The Château and its owners
The Château has a majestic architecture: transverse roofs, looking like acute pyramids at both ends. The shape of the windows and attics decorated with buttresses are the legacy of a 19th-century construction. Possession of the Château changed hands several times over the centuries. Mr Guy Rolaz and his family are the current owners of the vineyard and the cellar, but the building of the Château itself has been sold by Guy’s father Charles in 1968.

Estate and terroir
The estate is located on an alluvial fan and vines benefit from excellent sun exposure, with a gentle slope facing Lake Geneva. Its 9.4-hectare vineyard surrounds Château Saint-Vincent and its park. From the top of the estate, there is a path to reach a nice pond called Etang Bleu and a revitalised pool. It also gives access to the hiking trail “Sentier des Châtaignes” linking the village of Luins village to the hamlet of Vincy.
